Report a Spoonbill Sighting

Hi Juan,
Thank you so much for your banded spoonbill sighting reports and photos. I wanted to give you a bit of history on the birds that you saw.

EN vertical gray was banded as a chick on an island in the southeastern portion of Florida Bay on 12/31/08.

07-A vertical black was banded as a chick on an island in the northwestern portion of Florida Bay on 12/1/06.

If you zoom in on the 3rd photo you sent, there is actually a 1 next to the 9, making that bird 91-D vertical black. That bird was banded as a chick on an island in the northwestern portion of Florida Bay on 1/1/08.

It is amazing to see how different the plumages are between 07-A and 91-D despite being only about 3 months apart in age.
