Martes de Safari. Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park (Sep 23, 2008)

Este día realice un viaje muy temprano en la mañana por( Janes Scenic Drive ) . El camino esta cubierto de agua en varios tramos y entre la 7 y 8 milla es imposible continuar si no tienes un 4x4 off road.
Ubique la entrada del trail que conduce a la Old Cabin, en cuanto a la fauna vi muchos Red-Shouldered Hawk, algunos Deer en el camino (imposible de fotografiar) y por supuesto Alligator.
La Ranger de la caseta de entrada fue muy amigable y atenta.


Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve is a Florida State Park just west of Copeland, Florida. It is located in the Fakahatchee Strand, a thread of forested swamp in Big Cypress, part of the Florida Everglades, on SR 29. Coordinate 26° 0′ 0″ N, 81° 25′ 1.2″ W.

Plants found in the park include royal palm, bald cypress, bromeliads, ferns, and orchids.

Among the wildlife of the park are a number of threatened and endangered species: the Florida panther, Wood Stork, black bear, fox squirrel, and mink. The park also is home to white-tailed deer, raccoons, opossums, Red-shouldered Hawks, turkeys, owls, and vultures. Alligators, ducks, Sandhill Cranes, Roseate Spoonbills, Bald Eagles, and osprey can be seen in the park.
